John Paul II Reflections on
the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches
Pope John Paul II has frequently
focused on the traditions and spirituality of the Christian brothers and sisters
of the East, both the Eastern Rite Churches that are in union with the Pope,
such as the Mother of God Catholic Church, and also the Orthodox Churches. The
Eastern Rite Catholic Churches and the Orthodox Churches share the same Divine
Liturgy, the Mass, an older form of the Mass dating back to the third century.
