Catholic Church in Cameroon

The Catholic Church in  (A republic on the western coast of central Africa; was under French and British control until 1960) Cameroon is part of the worldwide  (The Christian Church based in the Vatican and presided over by a pope and an episcopal hierarchy) Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the  (The head of the Roman Catholic Church) Pope and  ((Roman Catholic Church) the central administration governing the Roman Catholic Church) curia in  (Capital and largest city of Italy; on the Tiber; seat of the Roman Catholic Church; formerly the capital of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire) Rome.

The Roman Catholic Church is the world's largest Christian Church, and its largest religious grouping. There are an estimated 4.25 million baptized Catholics in the Republic of Cameroon, 26% of the population, in 23  (The territorial jurisdiction of a bishop) Dioceses. There are 1,350  (A clergyman in Christian churches who has the authority to perform or administer various religious rites; one of the Holy Orders) priests and 2,600 men and women in religious orders.
